What is on-demand and
print-on-demand?
On-demand and print-on-demand refer to production methods where items are created or printed as orders are received, eliminating the need for large inventories. These processes are cost-effective and reduce waste by producing goods only when there is demand, making them environmentally friendly and efficient solutions for promotional merchandise and custom sportswear.
How does Brikl on-demand work?
Brikl on-demand orders are routed to FAST (which will then route them to their network of decorators), FulfillEngine (which will route them to their network of decorators), or the Brikl Supplier Network (which will route them to any supplier-decorator of the Brikl Supplier Network that you may choose). More direct integrations will follow later, including SunFrog, Stakes, Dubow, and others.
How to set up an On-Demand Store
Setting up an On-Demand store involves similar procedures across different On-Demand
networks.
-
Step 1:
Configuring the Dashboard
- Begin by contacting FAST, FulFill Engine, or your supplier-decorator of choice from the Brikl Supplier Network, which supports PromoStandards Purchase Orders, to create an account.
- Once created, they will provide you with an account ID, API Key, and possibly account number to facilitate sending Purchase Orders (POs) and obtaining order status regularly.
- Ensure you use an email address where you wish to receive email order notifications. We can dynamically assign one email per dashboard and, eventually, per order. Note that for FAST, the email must be associated with the FAST account for it to function correctly.
-
Step 2:
Adding Products
- Add products from the decorator network you've chosen. These products use special product codes separate from the blank suppliers. In the Supplier Dashboard, check the Supplier column for Fast Platform, FulFill Engine, or the Brikl Supplier Network for your supplier-decorator of choice.
- For our on-demand to PO submission system (Blanks & Decorator), or the ability to correlate blank product codes to decorator product codes is available, select products from the decorator that will decorate the blank goods.
-
Step 3:
Assigning Products to a Microstore
Assign only one decorator per MicroStore.
-
Step 4:
Payment Methods for On-Demand Stores
Initially, On-Demand orders will be paid in advance, typically using credit cards. Store credit and coupons can also be used as payment methods, provided any remaining balance after using store credit or coupons is paid for using a credit card. Note that pre-payment by credit card is the standard for On-Demand orders.
-
Step 5:
Routing Orders
Once orders are placed, Brikl will wait until the payment is finalized and then send the order directly to the decorator network. In case of submission failures, a note will be added to the order and its updated status to reflect the error. If successful, statuses will indicate success and attach unique order numbers for future reference.
Please note:
- FulFill Engine provides real-time order updates, while FAST and our alternative solution follow a set schedule, currently set at 12 AM and 12 PM EST. Adjustments to this schedule can be made if necessary, but it will remain consistent for all merchants.
- Some decorator networks may split orders based on decorator workload, supplies, and other factors. Brikl ensures that order numbers for all decorators are obtained and that the order is up-to-date with relevant information.
- Once orders are shipped, Brikl retrieves and displays the carrier used and tracking numbers for both the merchant and the customer.

What other options are available?
Brikl currently has an integration with a third party to obtain thousands of products from hundreds of suppliers of blank goods and decorators that supply goods and embellish them for customers. We refer to this as the Brikl Supplier Network.
Use this tool to leverage over 400 suppliers and decorators. In order for you to use the system effectively, you must have an account with the supplier/decorator of your choosing.
💡 Please note:
- You can only obtain product data and information from each supplier as they have input into PromoStandards.
- You can only submit POs to each supplier if:
- you have an account with the supplier
- you have obtained PromoStandard credentials from the supplier-decorator, and we input them into our account.
- the supplier you choose is utilizing the Purchase Order 1.0 service with PromoStandards
Brikl cannot currently submit POs that involve relaying POs to blank suppliers, then decorators. You must choose the products directly from the supplier-decorator of the Brikl Supplier Network. Decoration methods that suppliers on this tool use can vary and be quite different from each other and are dictated by what they have chosen in their PromoStandards configuration.
-
Are there limitations to decoration methods when using the Brikl Supplier Network?
This solution is a little more strict in providing certain information about the decorations used, color system, and location information. PromoStandards and by proxy, the tool will try to standardize the payloads sent to suppliers. These parameters are all sent via a configuration object in the data payload sent to the supplier. Some suppliers require it, some do not, and will determine the details of the decoration by contacting you as they will not have automated systems to handle this configuration. We will do our best to supply this configuration object to every supplier, regardless of their configuration.
-
How does decorator payment work?
Brikl does not pay fees or other compensation to either a decorator platform such as FuFillEngine or FAST or a supplier-decorator you choose from the Brikl Supplier Network. Each party will collect its fees from you. Brikl will collect its platform fees for orders going through its platform. Fulfill Engine and FAST will collect their fees from the manufacturing and fulfillment facilities in its network. The supplier-decorator (which you can choose from the Brikl Supplier Network) will collect its compensation and fees from the blank and decorated product offerings from its customers.

What can’t Brikl on-demand do right now?
Multi-decorator orders (coming soon) - This refers to orders that consist of products from different supplier-decorators. Multi-decorator orders are currently not supported by Brikl; we’re working on it!
- Pre-order store orders - This refers to orders where items are printed after the store is closed, usually with order minimums, with delivery times ranging from a few days to a few weeks. Pre-order store orders are currently not supported by Brikl for decoration - they will be considered for a future launch.
- Bulk store orders refer to orders where items are printed after the store is closed, with delivery times ranging from a few days to a few weeks. You will need to order products from the supplier manually and send the product and art information to the decorator. These stores will most likely need a supplier PO and a decorator PO generated, or you will have to manually run a report and send an email to both the Supplier/Decorator separately.
- Purchase Order Stores - because of the nature of sending orders after payment is made, Brikl cannot facilitate sending orders where the end customer submits a PO to pay an invoice later, as it requires marking an order as PAID manually. This is something we are planning in the near future.

Do all suppliers accept decoration POs?
Most suppliers accept blank PO data, and some also accept decoration PO data, depending on their configuration with Promostandards. Separate POs for blanks and decorator POs are not sent until further notice.
You can visit this link to filter and search for suppliers offering specific services. To see which suppliers allow the sending of POs, select "Purchase Order" in the filters. If a service has a lock symbol next to the Purchase Order service, it means they require credentials, and the merchant needs to provide Promo Standard credentials for configuration. Alternatively, you can search for specific suppliers by name. For example, Admart Productions does not offer a Purchase Order service. Augusta Sportswear does not require credentials to submit Purchase Orders, but the merchant still needs an account. AZX Sports offers Purchase Order and Status but requires credentials.
In cases where a supplier-decorator does not accept decoration data, an error message will be generated by the Brikl platform to alert the merchant and Brikl on the order details page in the notes section, specifying the error message. The following suppliers (and more) will accept decoration data: Alphabroder, Vantage, Hit, PCNA, Cutter & Buck.
