How to customize a 2D stock image?

With BRIKL you can add 2D stock images to your Design Studio, and allow your customers to customize them. 3D digitization is not required.

Introduction

With BRIKL you can add 2D stock images to your Design Studio for customization. The 2D stock images must be in SVG format (see below for detailed instructions).

Stock images can be customized in different ways:

  • Change colors
  • Add prints
  • Add text
  • Add graphics
  • Add placeholders
  • Add team rosters (‘order details’)

How to add a 2D stock image

Step 1 - Create a product

Important: Make sure to enable the customization option for your product.

Step 2 - Access the Studio Editor

Access the Studio Editor by navigating to Design > Studio Editor

Step 3 - Set the Design Studio to 2D mode only

Step 4 - Create and upload a design template

Make sure to embed the 2D PNG or JPEG in your design software.

Make sure the image is on one layer called COLORZONE-1.

Important: Do not create any “Group” in your SVG file. It will make the file unreadable by the BRIKL software.

Step 5.2 Upload a design template

Important: Make sure to refresh the page after all uploads

Step 5 - Upload a preview image for the design template

Go to the Studio Editor

You now have a 2D design template with a preview image.

To test if your settings are fine. Access the text step of your configurator and add a text. It is as simple as that.
