Discounts (promotions)

BRIKL gives you the ability to provide discounts and promotions. A discount is basically value that is subtracted from the basic price that you set for your product. With promotions you will be able to have more control on what you would like to give to your potential customers. For example, with promotions you can provide free shipping or even special pricing when customers buy in bulk.

Can be combined with other discounts & upcharges?

You can define if the discount can be combined with other discounts and upcharges.

Apply discount only once per cart

The default rule is for a discount to be applied more than once per cart. Therefore, if you have the same product multiple times in your cart, the discount will be applied to all products. If you want the discount to be applied to only one of the products, make sure to check this option.

Apply to

Cart: You can apply the discount to a cart total. In case of a quantity discount for example, the discount will be applied based on the total number of items in your cart.

Cart item: You can apply a discount to each item individually. In case of a quantity discount. For example, the discount will be applied to an individual item, not to a cart level.

Coupons

An online coupon refers to a discount code or number that can be redeemed on a website. Like traditional coupons, online coupons are used to attract new customers and increase the loyalty of new customers.

  • You can assign a single or multiple coupons to a discount
  • You can generate coupon codes based on a prefix and suffix. You can also define the number of random characters to be generated in between
  • Enter the maximum usage of a coupon per customer. This requires that your customer has created an account and is logged in
  • Enter the maximum usage overall of a coupon. For example, a coupon can be used a maximum of 5 times
  • Enable/disable your coupon

General notes:

  • The code that we set on the information tab, will be used as well for the coupon name.
  • If there is no accounting ID or internal name, we can use the same name to fulfill all the fields: accounting ID, internal name and the field used to identify in the accounting system.
  • Important to always set up availability dates and activate the coupon so it can be tested and shared with customers.

Upcharges

An upcharge is an additional value to the basic price that you set for your product. For instance, if your basic price is based on 10 pieces, you can apply an up-charge if your customer buys less. Upcharges work similar to discounts (promotions), instead of subtracting we are adding on a specific amount.
