How to set up a blog

Blogs are a great way to educate, entertain and inspire your demographic while ensuring your brand is visible on search engines.

Why should I start a blog?

Providing content on your website that answers your customers' or prospective customers' questions helps them learn about your product or service. In fact, according to Hubspots' research, companies with blogs receive:

  • 55% more visitors versus companies without blogs.
  • 97% more inbound links versus companies without blogs.
  • 434% more indexed pages versus companies without blogs.
  • 67% more leads per month versus companies without blogs.
  • Enhanced visibility on search engines.

How do I create a blog content page using Brikl?

  • Go to your dashboard > Content > Create new > Page.
  • In the Sales Channel dropdown, select MYBRIKL if you only have one storefront. Or if you have multiple, select your desired storefront.

  • Give your blog a name and complete all SEO details.

You can tag your blog page. This will help later on to easily create blog listing pages.

Tags can essentially be anything you like e.g., blogs, news, article, press releases etc. Create and curate content that's most appropriate for your audience.

  • Toggle from draft to published at the top of the page.

Adding a blog element to any chosen page

Now it's time to display the blog you've created! Have you already got a page you'd like a blog feed added to? Great, now it's time to add your blog to your page. If not, follow the steps below.

  • Go to your dashboard > Content > Create new > Page.
  • Add the "Page Card" component...

  • Then click into the component to open a list of options on the right. Next go to 'Page card' > Component > Page card options.

  • There are two ways to add a product card (blog thumbnail).
    • You can add the product pages individually
    • You can select what tag you'd like to pull through into the card component. This will then auto-populate your content on the page.

To show the thumbnail images, make sure to upload a 'social share' image in your settings page.
