How to export design templates in Adobe Illustrator

Learn to export your design templates in various file formats using Adobe Illustrator.

Once you finish your design template in Adobe Illustrator, you must export it. Use the following links to jump straight to a specific file format: 

• PNG (recommended)
• JPEG
• PDF
• SVG

PNG

1. Go to File > Export > Export As…
2. Name your file, select PNG at "Save as type," and tick the "Use Artboards" checkbox
3. Click the "Export" button
4. In the PNG Options, select the resolution of your choice
5. Click "OK"

JPEG

1. Go to File > Export > Export As…
2. Name your file, select JPEG at "Save as type," and tick the "Use Artboards" checkbox
3. Click the "Export" button
4. In the JPEG Options, select the resolution of your choice
5. Click "OK"

PDF

1. Go to File > Save As…
2. Name your file and select Adobe PDF at "Save as type"
3. Click the "Save" button
4. Click the "Save PDF" button

SVG

1. Go to File > Save As…
2. Name your file, select SVG at "Save as type," tick the "Use Artboards" checkbox
3. Click the "Save" button
4. In the SVG Options, set "Image Location" to Preserve to keep file editing capabilities
5. Click "OK"
